Node Keys
Node Keys are cryptographic identities that grant participation rights in the Stacknet network. Every aISP needs a Node Key to operate a node connected to the network.
What’s in a Node Key
| Property | Description |
|---|---|
| Index | Index of when the key was generated |
| Public Key | The unique identifier of the key |
| Token allocation | +1 billion tokens for user inference |
| Source | Originating stack of generation |
| Economic stake | Subject to slashing for misbehavior |
| Owner | ID of owner |
| Paperwork | History of provided service |
| Status | Cold, Active, Connected, Listed, Filed |
Getting a Node Key
Purchase
Node Keys can be generated through the network-wide key sale, or through secondary marketplace. The price of a node key increases after every new key is generated.

FAQ
- Node key tokens are not spendable.
- Node key tokens do not have expiration.
- Tokens on node keys aren’t transferrable directly. They are key bound, and are transferred if a node key is sold or transferred or filed.
- Node Keys are transferable peer-to-peer.
- Node keys can be exchanged in secondary market.
- Node key’s can be used to file paperwork 1 time. Remaining tokens on a filed Node key are burned.
- When keys are generated, their status is initially
Coldwhich prevents them from being transferrable or listable on marketplace for 72h. - Advanced users can track paperwork filing
PILE tracking
The network tracks all paperwork in a Pile. PILE is the unredeemed accumulation of earnings across all Node Keys that are at least 10% utilized. Your key contributes to PILE as you accumulate unfiled paperwork. This ensures instant payment when filing your paperwork.
